eGov Jamaica and Ministry of Finance set to sign MOU

eGov Jamaica will benefit from a US$35 million loan from the World Bank when it signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Finance and Planning on August 18, 2016.

eGov is the technology implementation arm for the Government and this loan will assist the entity achieve its mandate of establishing a modern ICT service provider for the entire Government of Jamaica (GOJ).

It is expected that this injection of funds will help eGov and by extension the GOJ, fulfill the needs of citizens by improving the quality of services as well as ensuring that reliable and consistent data is available for decision making and service delivery.

The MOU forms part of the GOJ’s Strategic Public Sector Transformation Project (SPSTP) which aims to strengthen public resource management and support selected public sector entities in facilitating an environment for growth.
