Water supply disruption affects sections of Portmore

National Water Commission | 2016-06-09 00:00:00

The National Water Commission sincerely apologizes to its customers in Portmore, St. Catherine regarding the continued water supply disruption they are experiencing.      The situation is as a result of a break on the 20-inch transmission line in the Marine Park vicinity.    Engineers have explained that in excavating the area it was identified that the break had compromised a large section of the piping network, which they are in the process of replacing.     This new development has extended their  completion time to 11:00pm tonight.

Areas without water include: Marine Park, Braeton Phases 1,2 and 3, Southboro and Hellshire.

In the interim, alternative arrangements are being implemented to isolate as much as possible the effects of the disruption.   Therefore, customers in Bridgeport, Edgewater, Garveymeade and Westmeade should begin to have low water pressure.

The Company regrets any inconvenience caused and is informing customers that after the pipeline is fully recharged, regular water supply will resume to all affected areas on or before 4:00am Friday, June 10, 2016.
