INDECOM probes fatal shooting of two civilians in Marvely

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of two civilian this morning at approximately 5:35 a.m. The incident occurred on Denver Crescents, Marverly, Kingston 20.

The deceased men have been identified as Rhamone and Ramesh Cummings 23 y-o twin brothers of a Waterhouse address.

The information received from the police by INDECOM is that a team of 25 police officers were on an operation, the team was in search of wanted men and guns. It is alleged that the team, acting on information, went to the Denver Crescent address. On arrival, two persons met them at the entrance of the house and allowed them access to the house. It is alleged that they (the police) advised the persons they wanted to “clear” the house. The confrontation, it was reported, occurred when they entered the house.

A team from INDECOM arrived at the scene at approximately 6:40 a.m. The concerned officers were interviewed and served with Notices and the weapons assigned to these officers were also taken out of circulation and packaged for submission to the Government Forensic Laboratory. Investigators also interviewed witnesses and the body of the deceased men processed.
