Tax payments due June 15

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is reminding business persons that the following payments are due on or before Wednesday, June 15, 2016:

•Corporate Estimated Income Tax (2nd quarter)
•Self Employed Statutory Payments (2nd quarter SO3)
•Minimum Business Tax (1st Half)
Persons are being encouraged to use the online option, as the TAJ portal has been enhanced through the Revenue Administration Information System (RAiS) to facilitate the filing and payment of all major tax types, including Income Tax, Statutory Payments and Minimum Business Tax (MBT). Individuals can now log on to the Tax Portal at from the convenience of their home or office, at any time, to pay taxes using a valid credit card.
Business persons are being reminded that tax payments may also be made at any of the 29 tax offices. Persons paying by cheque may do so using the electronic drop boxes located in main tax offices.
Taxpayers are advised to honour their tax obligations by making these payments on or before June 15, as the TAJ is ramping up its compliance activities in relation to these payments. Failure to comply may result in interest and penalty charges, and other compliance action.
