Digicel resigns 3-year MOU for $26.5million

Digicel today announced its recommitment to the Denbigh Agricultural and Industrial Show to the tune of JMD26,500,000 (twenty-six million dollars).
 
Endorsing the event, CEO of Digicel Jamaica, David Butler said, “As a brand that is built by Jamaicans, we understand the value and importance of supporting those events that are uniquely Jamaican and by what I am told, it does not get any more Jamaican than Denbigh”.
 
Butler went on to emphasize the necessity of corporate entities to the sustainability of the agricultural industry, “This MOU is not only about financing an event; it is Digicel’s proud investment in the proliferation of Jamaican culture and a celebration of the commitment of our farmers to feeding our nation”.
 
The three year MOU which is valued at $26,500,000 in cash and services was signed by Butler and Senator Norman Grant, President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society and witnessed by The Honorable Karl Samuda, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture & Fisheries.
 
Digicel, now in its fourteenth year of supporting the agricultural show will this year have in its ‘Digicel Hub’ phone and credit sales as well as its usual Denbigh Concert.
 
The Denbigh Agricultural and Industrial Show will be held from July 30 to August 1. For all three days patrons can stop by the Digicel Hub for specially discounted phones and great family fun, while on July 30 there will be the Digicel Denbigh Concert.
