Water supply disruption affects sections of Clarendon & St. Catherine

National Water Commission | 2016-05-31 00:00:00

The National Water Commission is advising customers in the Belle Plain area of Clarendon that the disruption in service they are currently experiencing is as a result of an electrical fault affecting operations at the Belle Plain Deep Well.

Affected areas are:

Belle Plain, Osbourne Store, Folly Bush, Swansea, Old Road and Comfort.

Restoration of regular service will resume as soon as the fault is corrected.

Meanwhile, customers in some areas of St. Catherine are without their regular water supply due to engineering works being carried out on a section of the Rio Cobre by the National Irrigation Commission (NIC).  These works have impacted inflows at the Spanish Treatment Plant resulting in the facility being shut down.

Areas affected are:

Spanish Town, Westmore, Hampton Green, Lakemore Gardens, Newton Avenue, Nugent Street, McCoy's Land, Mayfair Mews, Brunswick Avenue, Job's Lane, White Water Meadows, Hartlands, McCooks Pen, Leiba Gardens, Sydenham Gardens, Wedge Wood Gardens, Willowdene Housing Scheme and Hopedale Housing Scheme.

The NWC is advising customers affected that regular water supply will return on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 and regrets any inconvenience caused.
