The Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) and Jamaica News Network (JNN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) yesterday at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Related to the development of a high-tech Finance Lab at MSBM, the MOU affords the Business School and JNN the opportunity to demystify the market happenings such as equities, bonds, currencies and commodities for public consumption.

The partnership with JNN provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to national development as it affords the school to expose, analyse and interpret happenings across various markets that may impact Jamaica in this interconnected face-paced global market.

As MSBM focuses on remaining the premier school of business and management in the region, it is acutely aware that it must offer a value proposition that is relevant, distinctive and appealing to all its stakeholders. One of the school’s strategic objectives, ‘to produce employable graduates’, is central to satisfying the needs in the markets that it serves, contribute to national development, and perpetually reinforce its reputation.

The establishment of the finance lab will integrate theory in real world contexts, enrich the curriculum of our offerings, increase the marketability of graduates, and enhance the school’s reputation within the various communities that it serves.
